Ad Astra

New logo for Carnegie Mellon University's biggest and most beloved annual event, Spring Carnival. In person for the first time in 2 years.

My role

I was asked by the Carnegie Mellon University Spring Carnival Committee ask me to come back and design the logo for Spring Carnival 2022. I made a few more minimalist logo variations that was printed on staff t-shirts, puffer jackets, banners, stickers, hats, and even graduation stoles.

The theme that year was “Ad Astra,” which means “To the stars” in Latin. This logo evokes images of celestial, heavenly bodies, aliens, stars, planets, galaxies, spaceships, the Moon, the Sun, and all things “out of this world.”

True to the theme, I added of stars, planetary bodies, and a buggy spaceship.
